School of Social Work Memories

Some of the greatest memories from our past students.

My best memory of the School of Social Work is Tracy Soska.

The School of Social Work inspired me to become a social work student advisor.

My best memories of the School of Social Work are seeing the birds on the 42nd floor of the Cathedral [of Learning] and my practicum with geriatric in-home support with UPMC Senior Care-Benedum Geriatric Center. [I’ve] been able to get my seniors to smile and supporting them is such a delight. The staff [members] were awesome in preparing me for where I am today. This was all possible through Pitt. Let me not forget the Blue Chip Class of 2008. Thank you for your love and support.

The School of Social Work inspired me to learn as much as I can because when someone says ‘no,’ God says ‘yes’ and to really learn the music, values, and competencies of the National Association of Social Workers.

I am a social worker at the VA in Dublin, Ga. I love my job and thank Pitt for my preparation and teaching me to look beyond the obvious. Congrats on 100!

Paula Woods-Thomas (MSW ’09)

My best memory of the School of Social Work is my second-year concentration field placement at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC; it was the most memorable experience I have had.

The School of Social Work inspired me to continue to broaden my social work practice in order to be an effective social worker.
